About
Welcome to Cafe Acapulco, a culinary jewel nestled in Arlington, Texas, that beckons any food lover seeking an authentic Tex-Mex experience. Conveniently located at 4478, 4001 W Green Oaks Blvd #121, this family-run establishment is not just about food; it's about passion and hospitality. Owned by a former U.S. Army soldier, the owner’s attention to detail and commitment to quality are evident in every dish served.
Cafe Acapulco prides itself on offering a menu that captures the heart of Mexican cuisine. Starting with their soup and salads, the restaurant serves a delightful Tortilla Soup that combines a robust chicken broth with carrots, celery, and fresh tomatoes. Topped with Monterey Jack cheese, crunchy tortilla strips, and creamy avocado, this hearty dish is priced at only $6.50. For something more substantial, the Caldo De Res, a traditional Salvadorian beef soup, boasts tender beef shank accompanied by cabbage, carrots, and corn on the cob—served with two handmade corn tortillas and a side of white rice for $16.99.
When it comes to entrees, their beef fajitas have garnered admirers and rave reviews from patrons like LeeAnn Wallin, who declares them “the best we’ve had in ages.” Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, the fajitas are a must-try. For lighter fare, the Taco Salad offers a choice of ground beef or shredded chicken and promises freshness in every bite.
No meal is complete without a sweet touch, and Cafe Acapulco does not disappoint in the dessert arena. Try their homemade Vanilla Flan or indulge in the rich and creamy Tres Leches cake, both priced under $7. And for those with a penchant for something crispy, the Sopapillas are a cinnamon-sugar delight, served with honey—perfect for sharing.
The dining environment is equally charming. Patrons appreciate the relaxed vibe of the covered patio, where Fido is always welcome to join in the fun, complete with a refreshing bowl of water. The genuine hospitality shines through in every interaction, as noted by Tanya Blaha, who described her visit as an “awesome dining experience.” The owner often makes rounds to engage with guests, making each visit feel warm and personal.
Among the accolades, Brett Campanozzi highlights that Cafe Acapulco stands as one of the most underrated restaurants in Arlington. With its solid offerings and welcoming atmosphere, it leaves diners eager to return. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner with family and friends, this restaurant promises delightful culinary experiences at an excellent value.
In conclusion, Cafe Acapulco is more than just a place to eat; it’s a community gathering spot where flavors soar, and happy memories are made. If you're in search of great food, warm hospitality, and a lively atmosphere, make sure to add this local treasure to your dining itinerary!
“ If you're looking for some of the best Tex-Mex in Arlington, Cafe Acapulco is a must-visit! This family-run gem is owned by a former US Army soldier, and you can tell he puts his heart into everything here. The beef fajitas are honestly the best we’ve had in ages – so tender and flavorful! Their house frozen margaritas are perfect, too, especially on a warm evening. We love sitting on their awesome covered patio, and they always welcome our pup with a bowl of water. The care and quality that go into every dish really stand out, making it feel worlds apart from any chain. If you’re craving amazing food, a relaxed vibe, and genuine hospitality, Cafe Acapulco should be at the top of your list! ”
“ We visited on Good Friday after our church service. The service was excellent and the food, delicious. I decided to try something different, I always get the same thing when we eat Mexican food and the papusas and black rice and beans did not disappoint. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. The owner came to our table and we enjoyed visiting with him for a few minutes. All in all, an awesome dining experience. ”
“ Just stopped in by chance for a little lunch. Got the Appatizer Sampler and everything was excellent. Great flavors and well presented, we will be back for dinner soon! ”
“ Visited this establishment this evening for dinner. Bought the fajitas! They were great! Chips and salsa were good. Only thing is the tortillas...not bad but could be better. Overall, we will be coming back to this place again! ”
“ It’s the best food for the buck! The owner is there and will treat you a friend! Yea the place is dated but the service is great and food plus the drinks are always great! One of the most underrated restaurants around this part for sure! Give it a try! ”
“ This is the BEST mexican food place that I have been to in years. The food is excellent and lots of it!!! Hensley is the best waitress ever. This is the place to come to enjoy a good meal and get treated great!!! ”
“ I fricking love the black beans!!! They’re amazing, along with everything else I’ve had from here. Also a huge fan of the cheese Pupusas. Totally worth a try if you’re curious. ”
“ How is this place not packed all the time? The food is OUTSTANDING!!! I have liked everything I've eaten here. Gotta try the street tacos! You like it spicy, put that green avocado sauce on it....fire!!! Very reasonably priced! I will hate it if I walk in and I have to wait like other restaurants, but it would very well deserved! If you are in the area and you like Mexican or Salvadoran ....THIS is the place to go! Should be on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! ”
